Product Description

Attorney Mackenzie “Mac” Standfield swore off love when her heart was shattered into a million pieces. But there’s one man who has managed to tempt her beyond reason—rodeo star Luke Madaris. Although five years have passed, Mac discovers when she runs into Luke again that the sexual tension is just as charged as ever…

When Luke gets injured in a rodeo, he knows the only place where he can recuperate—without being smothered by his worried family—is at Mac’s place. After all, like Mac, he has no interest in any romantic entanglements….until being in such close quarters with Mac forces Luke to confront a desire he can no longer fight…

With each passing day, Mac and Luke come to realize that their smoldering attraction can be put out only if they surrender to it. But what Mac doesn’t realize is that once you give yourself to a Madaris man, there’s no turning back…

What can I say...if you're a fan of Mrs. Jackson's work...and if you LOVE the Madaris men...then you'll ENJOY being witness to another Madaris love connection...the passion between Luke and Mac is definitely SIZZLING.

4 out of 5 stars Madaris cowboy falls in love   March 22, 2010

Luke Madaris, the second great grand child to have his story written (Slade being the first in Slow burn). I found his story more interesting than Slade's, has passion, romance, and a good secondary plot that works even without the romance.
Mackenzie Standfield, Black/Cherokee cousin of Ashton Sinclair (Fire and Desire & Surrender) is the heroine in the story. Due to a broken love affair she has sworn off men (famaliar romance theme -yawn) and been celibate for 5 years. Luke is not looking for love or marriage due to his fixation on winning the rodeo championships. Having met five years ago in Surrender, fate keeps pushing these two together at Madaris family gatherings, everyone else can see the attraction apart from them and Clayton Madaris (Eternally yours), who can't see a clue unless its in the form of his wife Syneda.
A good read that brings back some of the other characters from previous Madaris works, not sure of the time factor for the first books were written over 10 years ago so is this supposed to be 10 years later? The next story in the series is Blade's story (the player, player in the family), he gets together with Samari, Mac's wealthy, bi-racial lawyer friend. There is another friend of Mac's that is mentioned name Peyton, would be great for her to hook up with a Madaris man, hopefully the fact she is not mixed with something is not a hinderance. (I get the impression from the descriptons the Madaris women have to look a certain way???)-lol

3 out of 5 stars pretty good   January 21, 2010

i just finished reading this. to me it was a little boring and i hate to admit it, but i skipped over a few pages. it had some spice and mystery to it. the best part for me was the last few pages, when everything got all figured out.
