Product Description
Janet Evanovich, the New York Times #1 best-selling author of Finger Lickin' Fifteen, brings Alexandra Barnaby and Sam Hooker, from the hit Barnaby novels Metro Girl and Motor Mouth, to Dark Horse Comics with her debut graphic novel Troublemaker!

Alex Barnaby and Sam Hooker are back together and fighting crime the only way they know how by leaving a trail of chaos, panic, and disorder. Alex, an auto mechanic and spotter for racecar driver Sam Hooker, is drawn to trouble like a giant palmetto bug to a day-old taco. Unfortunately, she's also drawn to Hooker in the same fashion. There's no steering clear of trouble or Hooker when friends Rosa and Felicia call for help. A man has gone missing, and in order to find him Barnaby and Hooker will have to go deep into the underbelly of Miami and south Florida, surviving Petro Voodoo, explosions, gift- wrapped body parts, a deadly swamp chase, and Hooker's mom.

Customer Reviews:
2 out of 5 stars wrong demographic   September 8, 2010
Still Singin'
Got this at the library. Great artwork, but not enough substance to make me want to read another one. Evanovich has obviously targeted the wrong demographic here, and the resultant backlash has been perhaps even more than this slight book deserves. When you surprise/shock people like this, the rebound is fierce.

When I read her blurbs of the upcoming experiment, I definitely got the implication that this would be for a younger audience, and am surprised that other of her traditional readers did not. Therefore, I was prepared for something quite different from the usual Evanovich fare. Still, not something I'd care to revisit. And perhaps a lesson learned . . . fully prepare your readership for a radical departure!

Two stars is somewhat of a sympathy vote, based on Evanovich's stellar early work, and the fact that even the best writers have enormous difficulty repeating their triumphs.

Let's try again, JE . . .

2 out of 5 stars Did not pay attention what book was....   September 7, 2010

I should have paid better attention as to what the book was. It is like a hard cover comic book. I was so excited to see a new book from Janet I jumped to get it. I will stick to her regular books & pay better attention to the description of the product! My bad!! I think anyone who enjoys comic books would probably enjoy this.

1 out of 5 stars What a joke!   September 3, 2010
Avid Reader
Seeing Janet Evanovich's name on the cover I bought it without looking it over first as I have never been disappointed by her work. This book changed all that. The story line is somewhat similar to the "number" books but not nearly as fun plus it is a "cartoon"! I returned it and would not recommend it to anyone else.

1 out of 5 stars Nothing like it--unfortunately   August 30, 2010
Nora Allard (Clinton, MS USA)
As much as I love Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum series, I was disappointed in this 'comic(?)book'. There was nothing to it, and I'm sorry I spent my money for it. Very unlike Evanovich's other works.

1 out of 5 stars overpriced a   August 30, 2010

this book was not explained to be 1/3 of a full book, but it is priced as a full length book.
